A VINTAGE WEEKEND IN BATH: VINTAGE SHOPPING, EATING AND VISITING MUSEUMS

Lovely's Vintage Emporium has a vintage weekend in Bath, England

This is the first part of a new blog series here on www.lovelysvintageemporium.com all about where to shop for vintage fashion, where to eat amazing food and which museums and art galleries to visit in different places around the UK and the world.

First up is Bath in the south-west of England. This is part one of our guide to Bath as there is so much that this beautiful city, with its Georgian architecture, has to offer. Bath even has some great graffiti...

SHOPPING FOR VINTAGE IN BATH

Susannah Decorative Antiques & Textiles: this is a very eclectic little shop on 25 Broad Street Pl in Bath. This owner seems wonderfully eccentric, which is what you want from a place like this. We had a nice chat and she said that her and Pearl Lowe often do business together. She sells mostly antique and vintage homewares and vintage from the 1920s and 1930s. Think lots of lace, old hats, parasols and dolls.

Oxfam Boutique Bath: This charity shop is at 12 George Street in Bath and has a really good selection of vintage books and records (if you still have a record player). The clothes though are very pricey for a charity shop, but then Bath is a wealthy city. Not somewhere to go for a bargain but good for a browse and to get good quality secondhand pieces.

WHERE TO EAT IN BATH

King William Pub & Dining Rooms: This cute little pub is at 36 Thomas Street and somehow manages to be both a gastro pub, with amazing food, and still have the feel of a traditional local. We ate well and will return. I recommend the monkfish particularly.

WHERE TO VISIT IN BATH

Fashion Museum Bath: the first place we visited had to be the fashion museum of course (we will do a separate blog post with more details about the exhibitions). It is very well run and organised with a bookshop and ever changing exhibitions, plus there is a dress up area where you can wear old costumes. Perfection. It is within the Assembly Rooms at Bennett Street.
